WhyteT-160 RS
mtb
01
Origin
The T-160 sits at the top of Whyte's alloy trail range, bridging trail bike comfort with enduro-level capability. First released in 2016 and refined across multiple versions, the T-160 earned BikeRadar and MBUK Trail Bike of the Year awards — unusual acclaim for a British brand competing against much larger manufacturers. The 2024 iteration runs RockShox's top-tier Lyrik Ultimate fork and Super Deluxe Ultimate shock, SRAM's wireless GX Eagle AXS drivetrain, and the brand's own Shape.it geometry chip.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Award-winning trail performance with top-spec RockShox Ultimate suspension
- SRAM GX Eagle AXS wireless shifting at the RS price point is exceptional value
- Shape.it and MX wheel convertibility make this bike genuinely versatile
−Weaknesses
- Alloy frame is heavier than carbon-frame enduro rivals at similar price
- Only 3 frame sizes (M/L/XL) — limited fit range for smaller or very tall riders
- 200mm Code R rotors are correct but not the lightest braking setup for long descents
