WhyteS-150 C RS

Origin
The S-150 was Whyte's first long-travel 29er enduro bike, and its carbon variant represented the brand's most ambitious chassis: a sculpted carbon front triangle seamlessly blended with an aluminium rear suspension assembly. The 'S' suffix stands for Switch — the ability to fit 650b x 2.8" wheels and still maintain the mud clearance levels British trail riders demand. Whyte worked with RockShox on a custom 42mm fork offset (vs. the standard 51mm for 29"), dialling in steering precision for enduro-paced riding.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Carbon front triangle delivers stiff, light platform at a price below full-carbon alternatives
- Custom fork offset and Horst-link kinematics produce well-balanced descending character
- Switch (650b) compatibility is a genuine differentiator for muddy UK/European conditions
−Weaknesses
- Alloy rear end adds weight compared to full-carbon enduro frames
- Three separate build tiers make it harder to compare against single-tier enduro bikes
- Rear suspension servicing requires specific Whyte bearing knowledge
