Origin
The Sensor began in 2008 as GT's mid-travel trail bike and grew into a full range spanning alloy to carbon. The 2023 carbon Sensor introduced a 140mm travel carbon frame with SRAM's UDH universal derailleur hanger and was widely praised for its supremely supple suspension feel on technical trails.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Supremely supple suspension feel handles both large hits and trail chatter better than most trail bikes at this price
- Confident geometry (65 deg head angle) inspires trust on steep, technical terrain
- Quality frame details: UDH hanger, good frame protection, clean internal routing
−Weaknesses
- Supple rear suspension can feel sluggish and requires lockout lever use on long climbs
- Mixed drivetrain spec (NX shifter with GX derailleur) feels below the bike's price point
- Front end can feel vague on flat corners and mellow flow trails due to high stack height
