Origin

The Fury has been GT's weapon at the UCI Downhill World Cup since 2008. Developed alongside the GT factory race team, each generation pushed the High Pivot LTS geometry further. The 2023 carbon Fury added a mullet wheel option and three independent flip chips, giving racers more setup freedom than any previous version.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • High Pivot LTS delivers extraordinary traction and a composed feel at World Cup downhill speeds
  • Three independent flip chips offer more race setup freedom than almost any DH bike on the market
  • Mullet (29/27.5) setup works genuinely well -- agile enough for tight sections, stable on fast straights
Weaknesses
  • BoXXer RC fork can struggle to keep pace with the excellent rear shock under repeated large impacts
  • At approximately 18 kg (39.5 lbs) it is on the heavier end for a carbon downhill bike
  • Only available in Medium and Large for the 29er version -- limited sizing for shorter or taller riders
