Origin

The E-180 Works is Whyte's most capable e-bike — built for riders who want full enduro gravity performance from an electric mountain bike. The Bosch CX Race motor is the performance-oriented variant of the CX line, the ZEB Ultimate fork is RockShox's flagship 180mm trail/enduro option, and SRAM XX AXS T-Type represents the top of SRAM's e-bike-specific drivetrain. The mixed MX wheel configuration (29" front / 27.5" rear) centralises mass and improves cornering dynamics on steep terrain.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Bosch CX Race motor delivers the highest gravity-oriented performance in the Bosch ecosystem
  • ZEB Ultimate fork at 180mm is the best-in-class option for e-gravity suspension
  • SRAM XX AXS T-Type e-bike drivetrain is ultra-precise, lightweight and wireless
Weaknesses
  • 26.1 kg is heavy even for an e-enduro — portaging becomes difficult
  • Limited to 3 frame sizes (M/L/XL) — not for smaller riders
  • Flagship price point (premium Works build) limits accessibility
