WhyteE-160 RS
e-mtb
01
Origin
The E-160 is Whyte's most popular e-MTB, combining the same frame geometry ethos as the T-160 with a Bosch Performance CX motor. The 2024 RS spec brings SRAM's wireless GX T-Type AXS drivetrain — the first SRAM T-Type build (designed for e-bikes with higher chain tension) at the RS price tier. Fox Float 38 suspension and 750Wh battery make this a capable all-day e-enduro machine tuned for UK and European trail conditions.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Bosch Performance CX 85Nm is a proven, reliable high-torque motor with strong service network
- SRAM GX T-Type AXS wireless drivetrain is e-bike optimised and maintenance-light
- Fox Float 38 with 160mm travel delivers composed, capable e-enduro suspension
−Weaknesses
- 26.7 kg is typical for a full-power e-enduro but limits technical manoeuvrability vs lighter SX motors
- 400Wh and 625Wh batteries not offered — only 750Wh, which adds weight and cost
- Shape.it chip on a 26.7 kg bike has less pronounced ride-character impact than on lighter pedal bikes
