Origin

Minimotors is a South Korean manufacturer, founded in 1999, that became one of the defining names in high-performance personal electric vehicles through its two flagship brands: Dualtron (the extreme, high-power line) and Speedway (the 'tamed', city-friendly line). The Speedway range earned a reputation for over-built aluminium frames, solid electronics and long service life, and Minimotors spent years iterating it (Speedway 3, 4, 5, and the compact Speedway Mini series). The Mini 4 Pro / Leger — the narrow, lightweight member of the family that the 'Narrow' catalog entry most likely points to — arrived around 2019-2021 as Minimotors' answer to the everyday commuter who wanted the brand's build quality in a package light enough to carry up stairs. Note: no manufacturer or reviewer literature documents a product literally called 'Speedway Narrow', so this heritage is for the closest-matching model.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Minimotors build quality — sturdy aluminium frame, reliable electronics, long service life
  • Genuinely portable for a Speedway (light and narrow enough to carry and store)
  • Balanced everyday commuter performance: ~45 km/h and ~30-40 km real range from a single motor
Weaknesses
  • No official IP/water-resistance rating — not a wet-weather scooter
  • Drum + regen braking is dependable but weaker in feel than hydraulic discs on rivals
  • Narrow deck gives less foot room; taller/heavier riders may find it cramped on long rides
04

Generations

  1. Mini 4 Pro (lightweight compact)

    • Lightest, most portable; the narrowest/most carry-friendly of the family
  2. Leger Base (2021)

    • Heavier, sturdier frame with ABS drum braking; raised rear deck
  3. Leger Pro (2023 revision)

    • Refined controller and battery options; the current top trim
