Origin

Norco maintained gender-specific builds in the Storm lineup through the early 2020s, recognising that women's riders often need shorter reach and lower standover rather than simply a smaller version of the same bike. The Storm Women's applied this philosophy to the entry-level trail hardtail segment.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Women-specific geometry provides better fit and handling for smaller riders
  • Trail-capable 27.5" wheels with hydraulic disc brakes at an accessible price
  • Short-reach brake levers address a commonly overlooked ergonomic detail
Weaknesses
  • Limited component differentiation from the standard Storm range beyond geometry
  • Platform eventually superseded by size-specific proportional geometry across the full Storm lineup
