Scultura Women's

road
01

Origin

Merida has offered women-specific Scultura configurations since around 2010 — recognising that many women prefer a properly configured road bike rather than a gender-neutral frame with the saddle swapped. The women's Scultura uses the same proven carbon architecture and Gen5 geometry as the standard model, but ships with narrower handlebars, shorter brake lever reach, a women's saddle, and typically a compact crankset. The result is a race-capable road bike that fits women's hands, upper bodies, and sit bones from day one.

Specifications

Frame
Same CF3 or CF5 carbon frame as standard Scultura (Gen5 from 2022). Women's builds typically use CF3 carbon (997 g size M) or LITE aluminium. Shared geometry with the standard Scultura: head angle 73.5°, seat angle 73.5°, 30 mm tyre clearance.
Drivetrain
Shimano 105 12-speed hydraulic (women's entry builds) through Shimano Ultegra Di2 on upper builds. Women's builds often feature compact cranks (50-34T) for a wider gear range.
Brakes
Hydraulic disc, flat mount. Short-reach brake levers fitted as standard on women's builds.
Wheels
700c, tubeless-compatible. Merida alloy wheelsets on mid builds; carbon wheelsets on upper builds.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Genuine women-specific fit from handlebar to saddle — not a recoloured standard bike
  • CF3/CF5 carbon means the same light, stiff performance as the standard Scultura
  • Compact gearing makes long climbs accessible without sacrificing top-end speed
Weaknesses
  • Women's builds are typically mid-range spec (CF3 rather than CF5) — CF5 flagship builds are rarer in women's configuration
  • Like the standard Scultura, Wire Port routing makes maintenance more involved
  • Sizing options may be limited at the XS end depending on retailer stock
