Origin

The KTM Kid range covered the brand's children's bicycle offerings across the 2010s, bridging the gap from balance bike age to full-size junior bikes. Aluminium frames kept weight manageable for young riders. The range has been substantially refreshed under the Wild branding (Wild Cross, Wild Speed, Wildcat) in the 2020s, though the Kid name persists in the catalog as a legacy identifier.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Aluminium frame keeps a children's bike genuinely light — critical for young riders
  • Wide size range (16-24") covers multiple developmental stages
  • Part of a trusted Austrian bicycle brand with a complete family ecosystem
Weaknesses
  • Legacy model name — current production uses Wild branding; Kid-branded bikes are older stock
  • Component specs vary widely by production year and are not consistently documented
  • Entry-level drivetrains on smaller sizes don't last long before needing adjustment
