The Esprit is Gazelle's entry into the everyday Dutch city bike market — designed for riders who want Gazelle build quality and Dutch practicality at the lowest accessible price point. The verdict
+Strengths
- Roller brakes and Nexus IGH require essentially zero maintenance — ideal for low-attention urban users
- Hub dynamo provides free, always-on lighting without batteries or recharging
- Low price for a genuine Gazelle with Dutch quality construction and a 10-year frame warranty
−Weaknesses
- Rigid steel fork offers no vibration damping on cobbles and rough pavement
- Nexus 3-speed variant (lower trims) gives very limited gear range for hilly terrain
- CST Eternity tires have more rolling resistance than premium options like Schwalbe Marathon
