01
Origin
What appeared in De Rosa's catalogue as the "Gravel SL" evolved into the Spider — the brand's fully-developed purpose-built gravel platform replacing the original Gravel Carbon model. The Spider brings dedicated bikepacking-ready features (rack eyelets, wide handlebar geometry) to De Rosa's carbon gravel offer, and adds the latest Campagnolo Ekar GT as a first-tier drivetrain option alongside Shimano GRX and SRAM XPLR.

The verdict
+Strengths
- 900 g carbon frame with 44 mm clearance offers a rare combination of light weight and genuine gravel capability
- Rack eyelets and wide handlebar compatibility make it usable for multi-day bikepacking without compromise
- Wide groupset choice (Campagnolo Ekar GT, Shimano GRX, SRAM XPLR) covers every gravel drivetrain preference
−Weaknesses
- Premium Italian carbon pricing compared to aluminium gravel bikes with equivalent capability
- Six sizes is a narrower fit range than some competitor platforms offering 7-8 sizes
- Brand awareness for De Rosa in gravel is lower than Trek or Specialized — may affect residual value
