Origin

BH launched their electric gravel line knowing that gravel riding demands a different motor character than e-MTB — smoother, less intrusive, more road-like. The NR System 2EXMAG motor was developed with a deliberately narrow Q-factor crankset so that electric-gravel riders maintain the same hip-width stance as a conventional road bike, not the wide waddling pedal stroke associated with most e-bike motors. The iGravelX NX later added a Bosch Performance option for riders in markets with strong Bosch service networks.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • 163 mm Q-factor keeps hip stance natural — the narrowest in class for e-gravel mid-drives
  • 540 Wh battery offers up to 165 km range — exceptional for an e-gravel bike
  • GRX drivetrain is purpose-built for gravel: reliable in mud, optimised for drop-bar ergonomics
Weaknesses
  • NR System motor less widely serviced outside Spain and Iberia vs Bosch
  • Integrated 540 Wh battery is not swappable for multi-day unsupported touring
  • Core App is less feature-rich than Bosch eBike Flow for navigation and telemetry
