Izcelsme

Unveiled in 2019, the E64 was Colnago's attempt to prove that an e-road bike could be invisible. Rather than badge-engineering a heavier platform, Colnago built the E64 on a carbon monocoque frame derived from the C64 and chose MAHLE's Ebikemotion rear hub motor specifically because it hides inside the rear wheel — no mid-drive bulk, no visible motor housing. At ~12 kg complete the E64 was among the lightest e-road bikes in the world when it launched.

Verdikts

+Stiprās puses
  • Discreet hub-motor integration makes the E64 virtually indistinguishable from a conventional road bike
  • Class-leading weight (~12 kg) means it handles and climbs closer to a real road bike than most e-road competitors
  • Auxiliary battery option doubles range without any structural change
Vājās puses
  • Hub motor provides less natural pedaling feel than a mid-drive system on steep gradients
  • 250 Wh base battery is small — range-anxious riders will need the auxiliary battery for longer rides
  • Limited to 25 km/h assist cutoff; on fast descents or group rides the motor contribution drops to zero
