Square Trekking
Algupära
Ghost was founded in 1993 in Waldsassen, Bavaria (Germany) by Klaus Möhwald and Uwe Kalliwoda, and built its reputation on aluminium mountain and cross bikes engineered for the demanding German and Alpine market. The Square family is Ghost's urban/trekking range, and the Square Trekking sits at the practical, do-everything end of it: a fully-equipped 'Deutschland-spec' trekking bike with lights, guards and a rack fitted from the factory, so it is street-legal and commute-ready straight out of the box. Since roughly 2019 it has been a steady catalogue staple, sold across many trim levels and refreshed yearly, aimed squarely at riders who want a reliable German-brand commuter/tourer without paying premium money. Ghost has been part of the Accell Group (alongside Haibike, Lapierre and others), which gives the model wide European dealer coverage.

Verdikt
- Fully equipped from the factory — dynamo lights, mudguards, rack and puncture-resistant tyres mean it's commute-ready with nothing to buy
- Reliable, easy-to-service Shimano parts and hydraulic disc brakes across the range
- Good value and wide dealer support as an established German brand (Accell Group)
- Fairly heavy at ~17 kg — noticeable on hills and when carrying up stairs
- Base trims use entry-level Acera/Altus groupsets and a basic SR Suntour fork that offers limited real suspension
- Confusing model sprawl (numeric 2.8/4.8/6.8, then Base/Essential, plus Mid/W frames) makes it hard to know exactly which spec you're getting
