Prohibited Items and Content
URBALT is a marketplace and community for legitimate micromobility. This page lists what cannot be listed, sold, or posted on the platform. Violations lead to removal, account suspension, and in serious cases referral to law enforcement.
1. General prohibitions
You may not list, sell, or post content involving:
- Stolen goods — bikes, scooters, parts, or accessories that are not yours to sell.
- Counterfeit products — fake brand gear (replica helmets, fake Shimano parts, clone drivetrains sold as originals).
- Weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco — any regulated substance or item that requires a license or is illegal to sell through an online classifieds platform.
- Human, animal, or illegal substances — no trafficking of people, animals, biological material, or controlled substances.
- Hateful, harassing, or extremist content — content targeting people on the basis of race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, or disability; calls to violence; extremist symbols.
- Adult or sexual content — URBALT is a general-audience platform. No pornography, no escort services, no sex toys.
- Scams, phishing, pyramid schemes — listings or messages designed to defraud, mislead, or collect credentials.
- Malware and dangerous files — links or attachments containing viruses, spyware, or exploit code.
2. Bikes, scooters, and parts — specific rules
URBALT exists for honest sales between real people. When you list a bike, scooter, or part:
- It must be yours to sell. You are the legal owner or you have explicit permission from the owner.
- No stolen vehicles. If you are the buyer, we strongly recommend checking the serial number against local police stolen-bike registries before paying.
- No frame with removed or altered serial number. A ground-off serial number is a red flag and a common sign of theft.
- Honest condition. Crashed frames, cracked carbon, safety-critical damage must be disclosed clearly in the listing.
- No modified e-bikes above legal limits. Chipped motors, removed speed limiters, or scooters modified past national street-legal thresholds cannot be sold here.
3. Vendor-specific restrictions
Approved vendors have higher standards. In addition to the general rules above, vendors may not:
- Sell grey-market imports — products brought in outside the official distribution chain, without manufacturer warranty valid in the EU.
- Misrepresent warranty or origin — every listing must state warranty length honestly and country of origin where relevant.
- Sell recalled products — items under active manufacturer recall must be withdrawn immediately.
- Use fake stock — listing items you do not physically have available is not allowed. Pre-order is OK if clearly stated.
4. How to report a violation
If you see a listing, comment, forum post, or message that breaks these rules, report it. There are two fast paths:
- On the listing / post itself — click the Report button. Select a reason and add details. A moderator reviews within 24 hours on weekdays.
- By email — [email protected]. Include the URL and a short description.
If you believe an item is stolen, also report it to the police in your country. URBALT cooperates with law enforcement on valid requests.
5. Consequences of violations
Depending on severity:
- Listing or post removal — first-time minor violations.
- Warning — the user is notified and given a chance to correct behaviour.
- Temporary suspension — repeated violations, or a single serious breach (e.g. clearly counterfeit goods).
- Permanent ban — fraud, theft, trafficking, hateful content, serious misuse.
- Law enforcement referral — stolen property, trafficking, threats, or other criminal activity. We preserve data and cooperate with lawful requests.
Banned users may not create new accounts on the platform. Vendor status, once revoked for cause, is not reinstated.
6. Changes to this policy
We update this page when new categories of abuse appear or when regulations change. The date at the top reflects the most recent update. Substantial changes are announced in the site newsfeed.
