Electric Scooter 4 Lite
Origin
Xiaomi has been the volume leader in consumer electric scooters since the original Mi Electric Scooter (M365) in 2016 turned a niche gadget into a mass-market commuting tool — it became the reference design that dozens of rental fleets and rival brands copied. The '4' series, announced in 2022, was Xiaomi's move to a tiered line-up: a standard 4, a longer-range Pro, a flagship Ultra, and — at the bottom — the 4 Lite. The Lite exists to hit the lowest possible price for a first e-scooter while keeping the two things budget buyers actually notice: genuine pneumatic tyres and the polished Xiaomi Home app. The 'EU' badge on the box simply denotes the European SKU, which ships locked to the region's 25 km/h legal limit. In 2023 Xiaomi quietly refreshed it into a 2nd Gen with bigger 10" tyres and a larger battery, keeping the same name — which is why two quite different scooters share this model page.
Specifications

- kg
- Brakes
- Dual system: front E-ABS regenerative (electronic) + rear mechanical drum brake
The verdict
- Genuine pneumatic tyres at a budget price — soak up small bumps far better than the solid tyres on rival cheap scooters
- Very light and easy to carry/fold (~15.6-16.2 kg), ideal for flats, stairs and public-transport hops
- Polished Xiaomi Home app, huge spare-parts availability and a familiar, proven M365-derived platform
- No suspension — the ride gets harsh on cobbles and broken tarmac despite the air tyres
- Rear drum + E-ABS braking is weaker and vaguer than the hydraulic/disc setups on pricier scooters
- Small battery and modest real-world range (well under the claimed 20-25 km once you factor rider weight, hills and cold)
Generations
1st Gen (2022)
- Original launch spec — smaller tyres, punchier peak power, ~4.5 h charge.
2nd Gen (2023)
- Refresh — bigger tyres and battery (+25% range) but lower peak power and ~8 h charge. Same name.
