Origin
The Izoard has been Stevens' race road flagship since the mid-2000s, named after Col d'Izoard — one of the iconic Tour de France climbs in the French Alps, bridging the Queyras and Briançonnais. The Carbon SL Fiber frame uses a PresssFit BB86 shell, full internal routing and flat-mount disc mounts; the matching full-carbon fork runs thru-axles front and rear. Successive generations have moved from rim to disc, and from 11- to 12-speed Shimano 105, keeping pace with the component market while staying squarely in the performance category.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Proven Carbon SL Fiber construction at an accessible price point
- Disc hydraulics + thru-axles bring race-ready modernity
- Continental Grand Prix tyres and DT Swiss wheels out of the box
−Weaknesses
- PresssFit BB86 can creak and requires specialist tools
- 25 mm tyre width is narrow for modern mixed-terrain use
- 2×11/12 with 52-36T is race-oriented — less suited to sportive climbing
