Origin
The Helium name has been Ridley's answer to the climbing market since the 2000s. The SLX designation (Super Light Xtra) arrived as Ridley refined the lay-up with 60T high-modulus Toray fibres and F-Steerer integration. It sits above the Helium in the range, targeting grand-tour mountain stages and weight-conscious enthusiasts who want the brand's WorldTour DNA in a lighter package.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Among the lightest carbon road frames in its class; sub-7kg complete builds achievable
- F-Steerer integration adds aero benefit rarely seen on weight-focused bikes
- Versatile builds from Dura-Ace Di2 to Force AXS cover every budget tier
−Weaknesses
- Max 28mm tyre clearance is conservative for modern endurance or mixed-surface riding
- Proprietary cockpit integration limits bar/stem choices and servicing
- PF30 BB can develop creaks over time if not installed and maintained precisely
