e-Trekking (eT01)
Origin
Peugeot has built bicycles since 1882, decades before it built cars, and the marque's black-and-white chequered heritage still anchors its bikes. The modern Peugeot Cycles range is licensed and run by Cycleurope, with the electric line designed in France and assembled at Romilly-sur-Seine (Aube). The eT01 began around 2018-2019 as the 'eTrekking' — a comfort-oriented tourer offered with a maintenance-free NuVinci continuously-variable hub and carbon belt drive, powered by Bosch's Active Line Plus and a frame-integrated PowerTube battery. In July 2020 Peugeot relaunched the platform as the eT01 'Crossover', repositioning it as a do-it-all bike: an everyday commuter on weekdays and a light off-road tourer at weekends, with D9, D10 Equipped, FS and FS Equipped trims spanning Bosch Active Line up to Performance CX.

The verdict
- Genuine Bosch mid-drive system — smooth, reliable power and a large service/spares network across the Baltics and EU.
- In-frame PowerTube battery and internal routing give a clean, integrated look uncommon at the price.
- Versatile crossover geometry with a suspension fork: comfortable commuter that still handles gravel and light trails.
- Entry D9 uses the modest Active Line motor (~40 Nm) and 400 Wh battery — underwhelming torque and range for hillier or loaded riding.
- Fairly heavy and mid-tier componentry (Alivio on D9); not a light or high-spec bike for the money.
- Peugeot Cycles dealer/support density is thinner than mainstream e-bike brands, so parts and warranty handling can be slower.
Generations
eTrekking era (~2018-2019)
- Comfort tourer; maintenance-free belt/CVT, no derailleur.
Crossover era (2020+)
- Do-it-all repositioning: suspension fork or full suspension, chain drivetrains, D9/D10/FS/FS-Equipped trims.
