Origin

The Lea is Kross dedicated women-specific MTB, offered as a parallel hardtail line to the unisex Hexagon. It uses women-specific frame geometry, narrower handlebar width, and saddle choices tuned for female riders. The model has been in the catalogue since around 2010 and spans wheel sizes from 24" junior builds to 29" adult builds, making it one of the broadest women-specific MTB lines from any Central European manufacturer.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Women-specific geometry is genuinely engineered rather than cosmetic rebranding
  • Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes are a strong safety spec for the price range
  • Wide size/wheel-size range makes the Lea accessible from junior to adult riders
Weaknesses
  • SR Suntour fork spec is the limiting component at entry/mid builds
  • Narrower handlebar improves comfort but reduces technical trail control for aggressive riders
  • Heavy by modern MTB standards due to value-focused component choices
