Origin

Ghost launched the Road Rage around 2018 as their first proper gravel bike — a signal that the German MTB brand was moving into the adventure cycling space. The name itself is tongue-in-cheek (Ghost's brand voice leans into attitude), and the bike delivers: an aluminium frame optimised for bikepacking mounts, a rigid carbon fork, WTB Riddler tyres, and Shimano GRX throughout. The Road Rage sits alongside the Asket CF as Ghost's gravel offering, with the Road Rage targeting accessible all-road adventure and the Asket going carbon for performance gravel.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Comprehensive mounting points make it a capable bikepacking platform without any modifications
  • WTB Riddler 700×37c is a smart all-round tyre choice, and 650b compatibility adds versatility
  • Shimano GRX throughout — purpose-built gravel groupset, not a road component compromise
Weaknesses
  • Aluminium frame adds weight versus carbon gravel competitors at the same price
  • 37c tyres are on the narrower side for aggressive off-road gravel riding
  • Limited geometry data published — hard to compare stack/reach numbers to competitors
