Thron² (E-MTB)
Origin
The Thron name first appeared on Focus full-suspension e-bikes in 2014 using Derby Cycle's in-house Impulse drive system, but the Thron² as it's known today launched in August 2019, rebuilt around the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 4. Positioned one step below the more trail-aggressive JAM² in the Focus lineup, the Thron² was conceived as the touring e-MTB — long days, mixed surfaces, comfortable geometry — rather than the bike you take to a bike park. For 2025 the family was redesigned again: travel grew from 130 mm to 150 mm front / 140 mm rear, the frame got a cleaner internal cable routing and USB-C charging port, and Bosch ABS became available as an option on top builds. The Thron² is now offered alongside the more equipped Thron² EQP (lights, fenders, rack) which pushes the platform further into SUV-bike territory. Pricing runs from €4,699 for the entry 600 Wh model up to €6,999 for the 6.9 ABS, with the 5th-gen Bosch CX motor (85 Nm) and a choice of 600 or 800 Wh PowerTube battery.
