Nuride Hybrid
Origin
Cube is a Bavarian bicycle manufacturer founded by Marcus Puerner in Waldershof, Germany, in 1993, starting in a 50-square-metre corner of his father's furniture factory. Over three decades it grew into one of Europe's largest bike brands, spanning road, mountain, gravel, trekking and a deep e-bike catalogue built almost entirely around Bosch drive systems. The Nuride Hybrid sits in Cube's trekking/tour family but leans deliberately urban: it takes the rugged reliability of a hardtail-style hybrid MTB — suspension fork, fat grippy tyres, upright cockpit — and dresses it for daily city and allroad duty with mudguards, lights and a commanding sit-up riding position. It replaced older Cube touring hybrids as the brand's go-to 'do-everything' commuter and was significantly redesigned for model year 2026 with a new frame, updated Bosch Smart-system electronics and 600/800 Wh battery options.
Specifications
- Frame
- Hydroformed aluminium; three frame styles — classic (high top tube), trapeze/dropped, and Easy Entry (low step-through)
- Weight
- kg
- Drivetrain
- 1x12 Shimano Deore (38T chainring, 10-51T cassette) on 625/750 EXC/SLX; 1x10 Shimano Cues RD-U6000 on 2026 Performance 600; XT 1x12 on 2026 Pro
- Brakes
- Shimano hydraulic disc — MT200 (Performance/EXC) up to MT420, 180 mm rotors; ABS available on select high-end 2026 trims
- Wheels
- 27.5" or 29" alloy; e.g. Shimano MT400 hubs on Alex EX23 rims (EXC 625)
The verdict
- Comfortable, upright, confidence-inspiring ride with commanding urban visibility
- Strong, reliable Bosch motor (up to 85 Nm CX) that climbs hills easily, plus big 625-800 Wh battery range
- Well-equipped out of the box — full mudguards, integrated lights, suspension fork and wide allroad tyres; three frame styles for accessibility
- Heavy (~25-28 kg) — awkward to carry up stairs or lift into flats
- On the EXC 625, narrow rims pinch the wide tyres, causing a slightly vague, 'floppy' front end; suspension seatpost and saddle underwhelm on longer rides
- No rear rack fitted as standard on some trims, and the high-top-tube classic frame is hard to mount when loaded
Generations
2024 era (Allroad)
- Original Nuride Hybrid: G-One Allround tyres, X-Fusion/RockShox forks, lighter builds, no ABS.
2026 era (redesign)
- New frame, Bosch Smart electronics, bigger 800 Wh option and optional Bosch ABS; SR Suntour forks on entry trims. Heavier at the base end.
