Origin
The BMC Speedfox is the Swiss brand's down-country/trail full-suspension platform, balancing 120-130 mm of travel with cross-country efficiency. Built around BMC's Advanced Pivot System (APS), it came in carbon (Speedfox 01) and aluminium (Speedfox 03) tiers. The 2018 redesign introduced Trailsync, BMC's signature integrated dropper-post-plus-shock-lockout system, which became the bike's defining feature.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Very light for a 130 mm trail bike (~12 kg carbon build) — climbs efficiently and feels playful
- Trailsync integrated dropper + shock lever automates climb/descend mode switching with one remote
- Balanced trail geometry handles flowy singletrack and moderate technical descents well
- Clean frame details: internal cable routing, frame-integrated sag indicator
−Weaknesses
- Stock tires (notably 2.25" Onza, even 2.35" Forekaster) are undersized/under-gripping for a 130 mm trail bike — reviewers recommend a wider, grippier front tire
- Integrated Trailsync dropper limits seatpost extension/travel and needs custom fitting; not user-swappable like a standard dropper
- Light rear end can feel overwhelmed on steep, ledgy, rock-infested terrain — demands deliberate line choice
- Lightweight rear demands careful rebound tuning for jumps/drops

Who it’s for
Trail / all-rounder — 120-130 mm rear travel, balanced climbing-descending bike. Modern lineup focuses on Speedfox AMP (e-MTB) but non-electric Speedfox 03 platform also exists.
