Origin

2019. The E-Revox was born out of the e-MTB boom and shares its platform with the acoustic Revox hardtail. Bergamont positioned it as an accessible entry point into electric trail riding — Bosch-powered, with a wide model range from entry commuter-eMTB to proper trail machine.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Bosch CX (85Nm) on Sport/Pro/Expert tiers — one of the best-rated motors in e-MTB for natural feel and power delivery
  • Bosch PowerTube IS removable — apartment-friendly unlike some integrated competitors
  • Good weight for class (E-Revox 4 at ~22.5kg is lighter than many beginner e-MTBs)
  • Balanced geometry praised — head tube angle and reach 'chosen with care', low BB pulls centre of gravity down for better cornering
  • EQ variants are road-legal and practical for all-year Baltic use (lights, fenders, kickstand)
  • Bosch Smart System ecosystem: eBike Flow app, wide dealer service network across Europe
Weaknesses
  • SR Suntour fork on all variants (including top Expert) — limits technical descending capability, especially for heavier riders
  • Entry Bosch Performance Line (63Nm) reviewed as 'somewhat weak' at steep sections — requires more rider initiative
  • Brakes on entry/mid models (Shimano MT200) rated as poor for heavy/technical use
  • No RockShox or Fox fork option anywhere in the range — a gap vs. Cube Reaction Hybrid, Trek Powerfly, Specialized Turbo Levo Hardtail
  • FS 150 Expert exists but uses Marzocchi Bomber Z2 + budget SRAM NX/SX — mid-tier full-sus feels underspecced at the price
  • 100mm travel on older variants (now updated to 120mm) was limiting for trail riding
