BatavusAltura E-go
e-city
01
Origin
The Altura E-go is Batavus's comfort-focused e-city offering — built around a low-step aluminium frame that makes mounting easy for a wide range of riders. The Bosch mid-motor system (Active Line / Performance Line depending on variant) provides smooth, natural-feeling pedal assist ideal for flat Dutch city terrain and multi-stop commutes. The Altura PT Pro elevated the range with a higher-torque Bosch Performance Line and a Suntour suspension fork for genuine all-surface comfort.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Bosch mid-motor delivers smooth, natural-feeling assist well matched to city riding rhythms
- Low-step frame and suspension components make the Altura genuinely accessible for a wide range of riders
- Hydraulic disc brakes give confident all-weather stopping — important at e-bike speeds
−Weaknesses
- At ~28 kg the Altura is heavy, making it demanding to handle without motor power (e.g., carrying upstairs)
- Bosch Purion display is small and text-only — less convenient than newer colour-screen competitors
- 400 Wh battery may require daily charging for longer commutes, especially in winter when range drops
