AtalaCute
e-city
01
Origin
The Cute arrived in 2014 as Atala's first successful mass-market e-city bike — integrating the proprietary AM80 Agile motor into a city-friendly 700c frame at a time when e-city bikes still mostly used hub motors. The frame-integrated battery and hydraulic disc brakes were genuine differentiators at launch. The name targeted women riders but the platform underpins both step-through (Lady) and diamond (Man) variants.

The verdict
+Strengths
- AM80 Agile torque-sensing motor delivers smooth, gradient-responsive power without the surgy feeling of cadence-only systems
- Hydraulic disc brakes on a city e-bike give confident stopping loaded or in rain — rare at this price tier
- 700x38c tires balance rolling speed with comfort for city cobbles and light trails
−Weaknesses
- AM80 Agile is proprietary to Atala/Accell — independent service outside the dealer network is limited
- 50 mm Suntour fork travel absorbs light bumps but cannot replace a proper suspension fork on rough ground
- At ~22–24 kg the Cute is heavy to carry up stairs without the motor running
