Origin
The Trekking is Atala's most basic 700c entry point — a stripped-back aluminium bike for everyday Italian use. The rigid fork, V-brakes, and Shimano Tourney drivetrain keep the price and maintenance demand low. The model has existed under various sub-names since Atala entered the city/trekking segment in the 1990s, consolidating as a family line in the 2010s.

The verdict
+Strengths
- Low price and simple maintenance make the Trekking ideal for commuters who need reliability without complexity
- Wide 700x35c tires balance urban rolling speed with comfort on cobbles and light gravel
- 21-speed triple drivetrain covers commuting hills adequately without mechanical complexity
−Weaknesses
- Rigid Hi-Ten fork transmits every bump to the hands on longer rides
- Aluminium V-brakes lack wet-weather modulation compared to mechanical or hydraulic discs
- Shimano Tourney 7-speed feels imprecise under sustained load versus Altus or above
