Origin

The Baby is Atala's entry into children's cycling — aluminium frames sized for Italy's youngest riders across the 16"–24" wheel spectrum. Italian families have been buying Atala children's bikes for generations, and the Baby range carries that heritage with a lightweight aluminium platform that outlasts steel equivalents. Training-wheel mounts on the smallest variants accommodate first-time riders.

The verdict

+Strengths
  • Aluminium frame is lighter than steel equivalents, making the bike easier for small children to handle and carry
  • Atala's 100+ year heritage gives parents confidence in build quality for a children's first bike
  • Wide size range (16"/20"/24") covers the full primary school age bracket without switching brands
Weaknesses
  • Limited independent review data — specs vary significantly by retailer batch and model year
  • V-brake adjustment can be tricky for small hands with limited grip strength
  • Premium over no-brand entry bikes may not be justified for the shortest-tenure 16" size
